Thank you for visiting sewingmistress.com and welcome to my crazy sewing world.

I am a sewing teacher based in Sydney with a background in design and Pattern making…..

A couple of years ago I started a blog for fun called spotandcross.co. It was a platform to share my various thoughts and sewing experiences. I didn’t know much about websites or social media but was aware that I didn’t seem have many visitors!

Sewing is my salvation! It is so much a part of me that I don’t know what I would do without it. It is my therapy and a borderline obsession. I am definitely at my happiest whilst in the zone, bent over my latest creation, carefully stitching it together with my trusty machine.

As well as creating, I am very contemplative…..and have just started to note down anything that is thought provoking and prompts me to pass comment. I am also a workshopaholic and so from time to time I might decide to review some of the workshops or classes that I have taken part in.

A good friend of mine said to me recently, don’t presume that people won’t be interested in what you have to say. If you have something that you wish to communicate, more often than not, people will be happy to read what you have written!

It is almost a year now that I lost my beautiful Mum to Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the one person who would praise and encourage all of my wooly ideas. Mum had every faith in me and my abilities. So I decided after her death  to re – invent myself with a new website identity and to dedicate it to her. Thank you Mum!
